(Here’s the recipe for liquid snow, if you’re of a culinary bent: Fill a clean pint glass to the top with ice, then fill it to the top again with cold water. Stir vigorously. Guzzle until you think you’re going to pass out from brain-freeze.)
By way of VegasTripping.com, a 25 minute video exploring the Paradise Strip and Las Vegas Boulevard in January of 1988:
From the creator of the video:
Las Vegas Strip street drive from 1988. I taped this from the car window in real time (edited the long traffic lights) on January 11, 1988. Starting from the Landmark casino on Convention Center drive, turning unto Paradise going north to Sahara avenue, then heading south on the Las Vegas Strip, u-turn at the Hacienda casino then going north on the Strip to just past Sahara. Some old casinos that are no longer there can be seen: Dunes, Desert Inn, El Rancho, Stardust, Silver City, Frontier, Silver Slipper, Marina, Hacienda, Paddlewheel, Sands, Vegas World, Westward Ho, Aladdin, Holiday Inn, Peppermill, Landmark and more.
The amazing thing for me is not all the new-replaces-old construction, but simply how much grade-level dirt was still available on the The Strip just 25 years ago. Las Vegas is a city with no past, and that’s a good thing. But it’s nice to have a chance to see it the way it was.
I heard this in the movie Morning Glory — a charming send-up of early-morning “news” shows. My kind of movie: Everyone is a better person in the end. I laughed all the way through, and I loved how it resolved. And Rachel McAdams is always worth watching.
Save the world from home — in your spare time! Disintermediation means cutting out the middle-man, and, by teaching you a new way of thinking about human nature and about your own unique self, Man Alive! puts you in charge of your own philosophical affairs.
The book's objectives are precise and concise: To take the claim of justice away from the state, the mantle of intellectual authority away from the academy and the experience of reverence away from the church. It puts all of those things back where they belong — in your mind. There is no middle-man on truth.

I am delighted to speak anywhere, anywhen, and I am interested in any opportunity you can come up with for me to evangelize egoism. I am rich in ideas that, so far, few of us seem to prize. If you value the idea of Splendor in the way I do, let's talk about how we can increase our numbers.
